Plot no. 20

So after almost a year of not posting here I am.  Life just got too busy and this was the last thing on my mind, although now I have reason, I am starting a creative writing course and I will need somewhere to keep my work.  So alongside my allotment and crafting talk I will now be trying to write daily creatively to practise and inspire myself.
Firstly the allotment....
Plot number 20 is looking fabulous it started out looking like this....

And has been transformed to look like this...

Beause of the glorious weather we have been having here we have even managed to start planting and I will be adding photos of that soon.
We now have three large raised beds and a long bed running up the side and across the back.  We have also made a request for the plot behind as that has been uncultivated for over a year and we would like to add fruit trees and more beds, along with a seating, BBQ area.
As a family we have loved being down there nd the kids are especially enjoying it now that the planting has begun.  They also like to visit the 6 brand new chilckens that reside in another plot.  The Mister regularly goes for a visit to the ladies for a chat.

We all have an out dooorsy look about us too as our long summer evenings are being spent outside digging and planting.
I'm looking forward to all of the yummy vegetable dishes I will be able to prepare and make, the kids have already enjoyed the first red strawberry which they savoured with glee!!
Right off to make lunches etc but I will be back soon with photos of the planted plot and hopefully some free writing.

A new Blog

Hi there this is a new blog, I have had blogs before but they tended to dwindle away during busy times. This Blog will be different because we have so much going on this year that as a family we want to dcument everything which is going on.
Firstly we have a new family project, our Plot number 20 allotment, we have already spent a lot of time there getting it all ready for the next growing season and hopefully to grow a few things at the end of this season. I love going down the allotment, its peaceful, everyone there is a wealth of knowledge and help and I find digging and weeding relaxing and the work is slow but steady and hopefully rewarding. I will document our time there and the things we acheive as we achieve them.
We then have our eldest daughter Elle May who is about to start the journey of secondary school, I think I am more nervous then her but we are slowly getting prepared and ready for the start of a new chapter for her.
My youngest Stanley is 5 and will be going into Year 1 where he will now start all the new exciting steps of learning to read and write, we have been doing lots of practising through the holidays in preparation for him.
Then my partner and I are planning to live more frugally and start saving again as over the last year our savings have dwindled and I would really like to push them right back up again.
And me I plan to continue organising the house and making it a home, studying for my degree and reading as much as I can.
So thats an introduction to us, where we are and what we are up too.
